My name is Blair Brown and I have been a counselor at Camp Little Shot since 2007. I am a 2009 graduate of Valdosta State University with a BFA in Speech Communication with an emphasis in public relations/marketing. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 10 and became a CLS camper. My older sister, who is also a Camp alum, became a diabetic several years before me, so I learned a lot about diabetes before I had it.
Camp Little Shot was and still is something I long for each year. As a camper, I learned a lot about diabetes and how I could better control it to live a healthy and more normal lifestyle. I became friends with both my fellow campers and the camp staff. Being able to come back to Camp Little Shot is such a joy because I have been the camper before and I know what a positive influence the Camp Little Shot experience can make. The entire camp staff has such a heart for the kids, it makes you want to be a part of it every year.
